Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General that teaches people how to spot the warning signs, especially on social media, of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to 鈥渟ay something鈥� BEFORE it鈥檚 too late.

How It Works

Step 1: Submit an anonymous tip one of three ways:

  • Call the 24/7 tip-line: 844.SAF2SAY (723.2729).
  • Go online: 
  • Use the mobile app.

In an emergency, call 911.

 Step 2 鈥� All tips received by the 24/7 crisis center are

  • Reviewed by a crisis center analyst.
  • Triaged and categorized as either life safety or non-life safety.
  • Sent to school officials and law enforcement (as needed) via text, email, and/or phone call within seconds.

 

Step 3 鈥� After officials receive a tip:

  • School officials and law enforcement (as needed) act immediately to investigate, assess, and intervene with reported at-risk individuals.
  • At-risk individuals receive the help they need BEFORE they get to the point of hurting themselves or others.
  • School officials report their outcomes on the Safe2Say Something platform and close out the tip, ensuring accountability for every tip submitted.
